Plans and pricing
How Performance Blocks plans are structured, what each plan includes, and how seat-based billing works.
Performance Blocks is sold in two plans: Team and Agentic. Both plans share the same core performance management foundation. The Agentic plan adds Henry, the AI agent, along with integrations and developer access.
This article covers what each plan is for, how billing works, what a "seat" is, what happens when you switch plans, and where to find current pricing.

Team plan
The Team plan is for organizations that want a structured continuous performance practice without an AI agent.
What it covers
- Capturing observations (also called blocks) on direct reports.
- Running 1:1 conversations with shared agendas and notes.
- Generating AI-drafted summaries and conversation prep from your observations. The AI draft features inside the app are included in Team — they are different from the Henry agent surfaces.
- Tracking objectives at the organization, manager, and employee levels.
- Managing attributes (org-defined competencies) and manager-specific attributes.
- Collecting 360 feedback.
- Sharing summaries and conversations with employees through the employee portal.
- Capturing employee feedback via portal-side flows.
- Producing team summaries that roll up multiple direct reports.
Who Team is for
Choose the Team plan when you want managers and admins to do the writing themselves (with AI assistance), but you do not need:
- A conversational AI agent that managers can ask questions of.
- AI surfaces inside Slack, Microsoft Teams, Chrome, or email.
- A retrieval-augmented knowledge base.
- Single sign-on, HRIS sync, or programmatic API access.
- Skip-level summaries that aggregate across multiple management layers.
Agentic plan
The Agentic plan includes everything in Team plus the full Henry agent suite, knowledge base, deeper analytics, identity integrations, HRIS sync, and developer access.
Additional capabilities
- Henry Agent on the web — the panel that opens inside the Performance Blocks app. See the Henry overview.
- Henry on Slack and Microsoft Teams — chat with Henry from the channels your team already uses.
- Henry Chrome extension — capture observations from anywhere on the web.
- Henry email — forward content to Henry to draft observations or summaries.
- Knowledge base (RAG) — upload policies, templates, and reference docs that Henry can ground responses in.
- Henry analytics — usage and quality dashboards for the agent.
- Skip-level summaries — managers of managers can review aggregated summaries from indirect reports.
- SSO — SAML and OIDC for centralized identity.
- HRIS sync — automatic employee, role, and reporting line provisioning.
- API keys — programmatic access for automations and integrations.
Who Agentic is for
Choose the Agentic plan when you want managers and employees to capture observations and draft content from the surfaces they already use, when you need centralized identity, when you have an HRIS to keep in sync, or when you plan to integrate Performance Blocks with other systems via the API.
Billing model
Seat-based pricing
Both plans are billed per seat. A seat is each active employee in your tenant — that is, each person with an employee role who is not archived. Counts include managers and admins, since they are also employees.
- Inviting a new employee adds a seat at the start of the next billing cycle on monthly plans, or pro-rated on annual plans depending on your contract.
- Archiving an employee releases the seat at the end of the current billing cycle. Their historical data (observations, conversations, summaries) is retained.
- Pending invitations do not consume a seat until accepted.
Super admins, who are internal to Performance Blocks, never count against your seat allocation.
Monthly or annual
Plans can be billed monthly or annually. Annual contracts include a discount over the equivalent monthly rate. Annual contracts are paid up front and renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Add-ons
The following are included in both plans up to standard limits:
- Knowledge base storage — for documents the knowledge base ingests. High-volume needs are available on request.
- API request volume — for tenants using API keys. The standard quota covers most production integrations. Contact sales if you need higher throughput.
If you anticipate exceeding standard limits — for example a very large policy library or a high-throughput automation — talk to sales before deploying so we can size your account correctly.
Where to find current pricing
Per-seat dollar amounts are not published in this documentation because they vary by region, contract length, and seat count. For your account's current rates:
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Review the Plan summary card at the top.
- Use Compare plans to see the per-seat rate for the alternative plan.
For new accounts and renewal pricing, contact your account manager or sales@performance-blocks.com.
Switching plans
Upgrades (Team to Agentic)
Upgrades take effect immediately. As soon as the upgrade is confirmed in Settings → Billing:
- All Agentic-only feature flags become available to enable in Settings → Features. They do not turn on automatically — an org admin must opt in to each surface (for example, enabling Henry on Slack involves a separate connection step).
- Billing is pro-rated for the remainder of the current period at the new rate.
- Existing data, settings, and integrations are preserved.
After upgrading, the next steps in most accounts are:
- Enable
henryAgentEnabledin Settings → Features. - Connect SSO if you use it.
- Configure HRIS sync.
- Provision API keys for any integrations.
See the getting started guide for a recommended onboarding order.
Downgrades (Agentic to Team)
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. This avoids interrupting active work and gives admins time to migrate any Agentic-only data.
When the downgrade applies, the following happens:
- Henry surfaces (web, Slack, Teams, Chrome, email) are disabled. Past Henry chat history remains visible in audit exports but is no longer queryable.
- The knowledge base is deactivated. Uploaded documents are retained for 30 days in case you re-upgrade, then deleted.
- Henry analytics dashboards are hidden.
- Skip-level summaries created previously are retained but cannot be created going forward.
- SSO sign-in is disabled. Users fall back to email magic links.
- HRIS sync stops running. The most recent sync state is preserved as a snapshot.
- API keys are revoked. Any integration using them will return 401 Unauthorized.
Core data — employees, observations, conversations, summaries, objectives, attributes, 360 feedback, audit logs — is fully preserved across a downgrade.
Cancellation
Cancelling your subscription ends access at the end of the current billing period. Within 30 days of cancellation you can re-activate without data loss. After 30 days, tenants are flagged for deletion and notified by email; data is purged 90 days after the deletion flag is set.
To export your data before cancellation, see export your org data.
Trials and demos
Performance Blocks does not offer a self-serve free trial. The product is designed to be configured for your organization (employee structure, attributes, objectives), so we onboard new accounts through a guided demo rather than a generic sandbox.
To see the product:
- Book a demo at performance-blocks.com/demo.
- Demos cover both plans; tell us in advance which plan interests you so we can tailor the conversation.
- During an evaluation, sales can provision a sandbox tenant pre-loaded with sample data. Sandbox tenants are time-limited and do not affect your future production billing.
Common questions
Do students, contractors, or interns count as seats? Yes — anyone added as an employee in Performance Blocks counts as a seat regardless of employment classification.
What happens if we go over our seat count mid-cycle? You can always invite more employees. Annual contracts true up at renewal; monthly plans bill the additional seats on the next invoice.
Can different teams in the same company be on different plans? No. Plan is set at the tenant (organization) level. If you need separate billing or feature scopes per team, set up separate tenants.
Is the Henry knowledge base counted against seats? No. Knowledge base usage scales with your plan, not seat count.
Can we negotiate custom terms? For accounts above a certain seat threshold, custom annual contracts are available. Contact sales for details.
